I have always felt the need to draw close to God. When I was a toddler I asked my mother to teach me how to pray.

She was busy, but, to her credit she wrote the Lord’s Prayer down on the back of an envelope (junk mail) , shoved it at my older brother and told him to teach it to me. I prayed that prayer every night throughout my childhood, and I remember praying it every Sunday in church with great enthusiasm. I loved church, and felt happy there.

When I was in sixth grade my parents asked me if I wanted to stay in the Billerica Public School system, in Billerica Massachusetts. I remember exclaiming “NO! I WANT TO GO TO THE TRADE SCHOOL!”, and I also remember the confused look on my parents’ faces. You see, what they had been trying to ask me was if I wanted to follow in the footsteps of my older brothers and start attending “Lexington Christian Academy”, instead of staying in Billerica. I didn’t. But my parents thought the trades were for boys and they were only asking to be polite and so I spent 7th-12th grade learning my core subjects while also completing rudimentary biblical studies.

From High School I went on to get my Bachelor’s at Calvin College in Grand Rapids Michigan, where, along with core subjects, I continued my education in Religion and Christian Scripture.
After I graduated, I decided to pursue my childhood dreams, and I became an apprentice carpenter. After many years, I became a licensed construction supervisor.

In 2008, during the Great Recession, I got a job teaching Industrial Arts at the Locke Middle School back in, of all places, Billerica.

It was right around this time that I felt a tug to start attending Church regularly again and I eventually Joined The Chester Congregational Baptist Church of Chester New Hampshire.
I earned a Masters in Education at Concordia University, minoring in Engineering Technology.
And then, after attending church for a few years, that old yearning hit me. I felt called by God and I began studying to become a minister.

After having completed an internship in Milford New Hampshire, under the Reverend Al Hoyt, I became the Pastor of Chester Congregational Baptist Church on September ninth, 2024.

Like Saint Paul, I believe that the church is the body of Christ and that no one part of that body is more important than any other part. I am so very grateful that the church in Chester has allowed me the privilege to serve God and the body of Christ as a small part in this community of believers.
